Life-Changing Changes

Today, in addition to a lovely Take a Moment micro-meditation—"Sense Your Body Supported,” under two minutes long!—I want to share an Instagram post by integrative therapist, Abby Rawlinson, about how her life changed when she dropped some of her dysfunctional patterns.

Abby’s List of Life-Changing Changes

My life changed when I…

stopped glorifying being overworked and tired.

My life changed when I…

stopped expecting people to read my mind.

My life changed when I…

stopped needing to be liked by everyone.

My life changed when I…

stopped feeling responsible for other people’s happiness.

My life changed when I…

stopped shaming myself for past mistakes.

My life changed when I…

stopped pretending to agree with people in order to fit in.

My life changed when I…

stopped thinking I needed to “earn” self-care.

Abby’s list not only resonates with me, it’s inspiring me to remember and celebrate the changes I’ve made that have improved my life, like finally allowing myself to rest when I’m tired, and taking every Sunday offline. It’s also motivating me to ponder which habits I could become more determined to free myself from. First on my list: Stop rushing so much! What might you put on your list?

Tiny pauses to be right here, right now can have big results. Our Take a Moment series of micro-meditations—all under two minutes long—make taking mindful pauses as easy as possible. We invite you to "Take a Moment" to find the calm that is always within you.
