Food is not just sustenance—it’s primal, visceral, and overflowing with sensory detail. The foods we eat and how we eat them reveals so much about our cultures, families, and deepest hungers. In this two-hour online workshop with acclaimed author and writing teacher Laura Davis, you’ll discover all the ways food memories provide powerfully evocative doorways to so much more.

Through a series of compelling writing prompts, Laura will guide us to places we didn’t expect to go. We’ll discover new things about ourselves, the foods we love, the forces that shaped us, what sustains us, and brings joy.

Themes that may arise:

  • Family rituals and traditions

  • Sensory delights and forgotten pleasures

  • Hunger, fullness, and longing

  • Memories and nostalgia for foods that belong to another time

You don’t need to consider yourself a writer to attend. Everyone is welcome!

Saturday, November 14
10:00 AM - Noon Pacific (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Eastern)

(If you are unable to attend live, you will receive a recording within a few days).
