Please join us for a transformative writing workshop with author, poet and artist, Patrice Vecchione! In this free, two-hour writing workshop, we’ll discover how writing can be a powerful tool to open our eyes, hearts, and minds so that we see and understand our lives in a whole new way.
When we think about our past, we tend to replay those stories in the same old ways. We recall remembered events as we always have—same beginning, same ending—which keeps us in what Patrice refers to as a “story rut.” In this workshop, Patrice will guide us to use writing to open up those stories so that we can experience them from our current vantage point—with all of the knowledge, wisdom, and life experiences we’ve accumulated, rather than only from our past self.
Patrice will lead us in exercises to expand our perspective—to view ourselves, our lives, and the world with a fresh point of view. She says, “Writing can open up not only our pasts, but also our thinking about our futures. The imagination is a vast, intelligent, curious, knowing part of who we are. We’ll invite it in to consider and reconsider, to inform and illuminate. We hope you will join us for this exciting adventure.
You don’t need to consider yourself a writer to attend. Everyone is welcome!
